CDS Direct Deposit

CDS is pleased to offer “direct deposit” service with your benefit payments. There are several advantages of direct deposit over paper checks.

  • Direct deposit is faster. Your disability payment will be deposited to your bank account within 48 hours of our release of the payment. While paper checks are mailed the same day direct deposits are released, actual delivery of paper mail is dependent on distance, Mother Nature, and seasonal delays.
  • Funds that are sent via direct deposit are available on the day the funds are deposited to your account, while paper checks could take up to five business days to clear.
  • Chances of fraud are reduced with direct deposit. There is no chance for your direct deposit to be intercepted and fraudulently cashed.
  • A direct deposit will still be deposited to your account even if you are on vacation or your address changes. The post office will not forward your benefit check to a new address.

If you choose to have your benefit deposited directly into your Checking or Savings Account:

Checking account: Please complete the “Direct Deposit Authorization Agreement” and attach a voided check to the form.

Savings Account: Please complete the “Direct Deposit Authorization Agreement“.

Completion of the Direct Deposit Authorization Agreement does not guarantee eligibility for disability benefits. Eligibility for benefits is based solely on CDS’ discretionary review of all available claim information in conjunction with the provisions of the Policy. The direct deposit feature takes effect only if benefits have been approved.
